The Chief Minister of Tamilnadu, Ms Jayalalithaa,in Chennai today launched the farm crop management scheme ,the first of its kind in India, based on Information technology, which would be of great use to the farmers.

The IT based farm crop management scheme is a forerunner scheme in India. Based on the farm level scheme, farmers can easily get advices on crop technology and agriculture trade.



Farmers can register their details in the department website and contact the helpline number given in the site at any time to take farm machines on hire.



Further, using this facility, the farmers can get information about seeds, fertilizers and the place from where other materials required for agriculture could be procured. Also, information on several government welfare schemes implemented by the agriculture department can also be secured.Details on Crop production and trade can also be got using this new software.



To initiate the second green revolution in Tamilnadu, Ms Jayalalithaa who has been introducing several schemes, today inaugurated this new scheme which would enable the farmers to increase their farm production, which in turn would give a boost to their economic prospects.
