Representatives of the Nilgiri Planters Association headed by the association's Chairman Suresh Jacob today met the Chief Minister at Kodanadu in Nilgiris district and handed over a petition. They also presented a cheque worth 11 lakhs 80 thousand rupees as donation towards the Chief Minister's Public Relief Fund. The Vice Chairman of the association, K V Ponnappa and member D Jayaram were present on the occasion.
Representatives of the Nilgiri Bought Leaf Tea Manufacturers Association headed by the association's Chairman Ramesh M Bojarajan also met the chief minister today. They handed over their petition to Ms Jayalalithaa and donated 10 lakh rupees towards the Chief Minister's Public Relief Fund. Members of the association Thyagarajan, Joseph, R B Gopalakrishnan, Sureshjogi and Sunil goyal were also present.
