34 persons had already been appointed as members of the election work committee to work for the success of the AIADMK candidate in the by-polls. Today, Ms Jayalalithaa appointed 9 additional functionaries to the committee.

Minister for Higher Education P Palaniappan, Tiruvallur South district party Secretary and Minister for Dairy development V Moorthy, Nagapattinam district party Secretary and Minister for Fisheries K A Jayapaul, Tiruvannamalai North district party Secretary and Minister for Information Technology Mukkur N Subramanian, Minister for Backward Classes and Minorities Welfare A Mohammad Jaan, Tiruppur City district party Secretary and Minister for Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments MSM Anandan, All World MGR Manram's Secretary A Tamizhmagan Hussain, Party Propaganda Secretary Dr M Thambidurai MP and party's organising secretary S Semmalai MP have been nominated by Ms Jayalalithaa to take up election work.
She appealed to the functionaries of the AIADMK and the party cadres to extend their full support to the election work committee and to ensure the victory of the AIADMK candidate in the elections scheduled for the 18th of March.
