Ms Jayalalithaa expressed her anguish over the deaths Sudha, Malathi, Chandran and Bhagat Singh of Theni district, when the jeep they were traveling from Theni to Cumbam collided with a state bus.

In another road mishap in Sivaganagai, 3 persons were killed when the driver of a Tirupur bound state bus lost control and rammed onto the pedestrians at Madurai- Rameshwaram Highway.

Condoling the deaths, Ms Jayalalithaa announced a cash solatium of 1 lakh rupees each to the families of the victims.

Further, she announced 25 thousand rupees to those who were grievously injured and 10 thousand rupees each to those with minor injuries.
