It is worth mentioning that this is the first time a very high allotment had been made for government colleges. She said that this would enable the government colleges and university affiliated colleges to have all the necessary facilities.

While speaking in the assembly today, Ms Jayalalithaa said with a view to make Tamilnadu the numero uno state in the field of education, the government headed by her had been taking several innovative measures. 

The speaker of the house and members of all the parties hailed Ms Jayalalithaa for allotting 100 crore rupees towards the development of infrastructure facilities in government colleges and thanked her for her decision.
