Chief Minister Jayalalithaa chaired a review meeting of the Department of Rural Development and Panchayats at the State Secretariat in Chennai. The Finance Minister, Revenue Minister, Minister for Electricity, Prohibition and Excise, Minister for Municipal Administration and Rural Development, the Chief Secretary, Principal Finance Secretary, Principal Secretary to the Department of Municipal Administration and Rural Development, Commissioner to the Department of Municipal Administration and Rural Development and other senior officials were present at  the meeting.

The Chief Minister also chaired a review meeting of the Department of School Education. Those who took part in the review meeting include the Minister for School Education, Sports and Youth welfare, Principal Secretary to the Department, Chairman of Teachers Recruitment Board, and other senior officials.

A review meeting of the Higher Education Department was held at the secretariat under Ms Jayalalithaa, in which officials including Minister for Higher Education, Additional Chief Secretary and Deputy Secretary to the Department of Higher Education were present.
The Chief Minister also reviewed the functioning of the Departments of Animal Husbandry,Milk and Dairy Development and Fisheries in a meeting held at the State Secretariat with the concerned officials including Ministers for Animal Husbandry,Dairy Development and Fisheries.
