Chief Minister Jayalalithaa has ordered the construction of camp residences for police personnel  in Kamudhi in Ramanathapuram district at a cost of nine and half crore rupees.

She also ordered the creation of a an additional Armed  Police Division in Ariyalur district and sanctioned 26 more personnel to the headquarters.



Chief Minister Jayalalithaa has created a peaceful situation in the state that enables the public to approach the police stations without fear and lodge their complaints with the police personnel who are good friends of the people. Several initiatives are being taken by Ms Jayalalithaa for the welfare of the police department.


Conscious of the fact that it is important to provide the police personnel, a place to stay when they come from various districts of the state for security purposes in times of temple festivals and important functions, Ms Jayalalithaa has ordered the construction of Camp Residences for Police personnel  in Kamudhi in Ramanathapuram district which would accommodate as many as 500 police personnel, including 250 women police.



Ms Jayalalithaa had already ordered the creation of three armed police divisions with 188 personnel in Ariyalur district. Additionally Ms Jayalalithaa sanctioned a 64-member division of armed police to the existing three divisions in Ariyalur, besides sanctioning 26 more personnel to the local headquarters. She had allocated 2 crore 93 lakh rupees for the purpose.
Ms Jayalalithaa also cleared a proposal to create 558 conservancy staff posts in police stations across the state for their maintenance and allocated 2 crore 75 lakh 7 thousand 168 rupees for this, the release added.
