In a statement today, the General Secretary of the AIADMK and the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu Ms Jayalalithaa pointed out that, as part of the workers' day celebration all over the world on the 1st of May every year, financial assistance was being provided to the poor workers who are members of the   Anna Thozhirsanga Peravai. 

In line with this, she said that 50,000 rupees each would be disbursed to 106 poor workers from the party-wise districts  identified in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry along with those from the Anna Thozhir sangams representing the Transport Corporations totaling  53 lakh rupees. This will be given to the workers at a simple function to be held on the 7th of May at the party head quarters located at  the Avvai Shanmugam Salai in Chennai.

On the same day, one lakh rupees each will be disbursed to the kin of 12 deceased party cadres who lost their lives because of various reasons. The entire amount totalling 65 lakh rupees will be disbursed as Family Welfare Assistance.
