In her message, Ms Jayalalithaa said Lord Mahaveer had taught that though evil deeds would give happiness initially, in the end the result would always be bad. She pointed out  that the quintessence of  Lord Mahaveer's teaching was to shower love on all living things, enjoining the people to follow the path of non-violence.
She conveyed her hearty greetings to all those who celebrated Mahaveer Jayanti.
