Chief Minister Jayalalithaa today condoled the death of 7 police personnel who died due to various reasons across the state. She ordered solatium to their families.

In her condolence statement, Ms Jayalalithaa said N Veerasamy, a Special Sub-Inspector of Vaazhavandhinadu police station in Namakkal district met with a road accident on the 4th of March this year. After getting treated at a private hospital for the past two months, he succumbed on the 3rd of May.



A Madheshwaran, a first grade constable of Mallasamudram police station in Namakkal district died of illness on the 17th of June.



In Kanyakumari district, E Inbaraj who served as a first grade constable in Thiruvattar police station died of cardiac arrest on the 31st of last month.



A head constable of Muthaiahpuram police station in Thoothukudi district K Pon Isakki died after he met with a road accident on the 3rd of this month.



P Vetriselvi of Selayur police station of Greater Chennai, was killed in a road accident on the 4th of this month near Tambaram.



In Kadalur district, A Manikandan a first grade constable of the Armed police died in a road accident on the 7th of August.



S Mary Gracy who served as a first grade constable in Arumbakkam police station in Greater Chennai died in a road accident on the 7th of August in Madurai.



Ms Jayalalithaa expressed grief over the death of the seven police personnel and conveyed her sympathies to their bereaved family members. The Chief Minister ordered solatium of two lakh rupees each to their families from the Chief Minister's Public Relief Fund.
