A Press release from the Tamil Nadu Government said that Ms Jayalalithaa flew to Coimbatore from Chennai this morning. Several party cadres, Ministers, head quarters functionaries and the general public gathered at Chennai airport and gave her a warm send off.

At the Coimbatore airport, Ms Jayalalithaa was greeted by the AIADMK functionaries of Coimbatore and Trichy districts, Ministers, MPs and MLAs and party cadres with  bouquets.

When Ms Jayalalithaa reached Kodanadu, Karagattam and traditional dances by the people of Badugar and Kothar communities were arranged on behalf of the Niligiris district party to welcome her. She was honored with the traditional Poorna Kumbham. Banners and party flags decorated both side of the roads in Kodanadu welcoming the Chief Minister.

Ms Jayalalithaa will be discharging her official duties from there during her period of stay.
